Mr. Block has a long and successful career in the computer software, communication and entertainment industries including pioneering roles in commercial and pay television and cellular telephone operating companies. He has also contributed significantly to the creation and development of entertainment and communication technologies used worldwide.

Inventor

Block is widely known for his pioneering work in communications, information and management technologies.  He is the inventor and patent owner of more than 150 issued US and International patents, including patents relating to:  Enterprise Management Systems, Information Labeling, Signal Control, Terrestrial and Satellite Distribution Systems, Real-Time Subscriber Billing Systems, Pay- Per-View and Parental Control, Speech Education, Exercise Equipment and Novelty items. Block’s inventions are licensed to most of the major consumer electronics manufacturers and have influenced entertainment, sports and information and education services worldwide. Block currently has multiple patent applications in process including patents relating to interoperability of non-compatible radio systems, information labeling, power metering and business management systems.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Communications

Block is a founder and Chairman of ShipCom , Interoperability Technologies Group (ITG) and Link Us All, Block & Associates and Choice Channel. He is a shareholder and advisor to the President of Eagle Telephonics.

ShipCom:  (www.shipcom.com)  ShipCom is the only US provider of High Seas voice and data communication. The Company also provides communication services to the US Coast Guard, NOAA and to the Canadian Coast Guard. During the Katrina storm, the US Coast Guard’s communication facilities were severely damaged and inoperative. ShipCom took over the Coast Guard watch and provided the communications with rescue aircraft in New Orleans and with ships at sea for 12-days. In recognition of this work, the US Coast Guard presented ShipCom with a commendation award (copy on request).

Interoperability Technologies Group (ITG):  ITG’s Smart Network Platform (SNP) solves the Radio Interoperability problem that has plagued Homeland Security and the US Military. ITG’s solution does not require any change in currently deployed radio equipment. The SNP connects any radio to any radio. ITG has a strategic relationship with Lockheed Martin (LM). LM will sell the SNP for Homeland Security applications and to the US Military to simplify communications with Coalition Forces.

Link Us All (LUA):  (www.linkusall.com) LUA is a software company that has developed advanced network based Presence and cross platform technology. The Company has 5 US patents pending for this important technology. Several of the LUA claims relate to Interoperability and Emergency Management.

Block & Associates:  Block & Associates is the General Partner in MMDS TV stations in Houston TX that are leased to Sprint.

Choice Channel:  Choice Channel one of the first satellite based Pay-Per-View program services in the world.

Eagle Telephonics: (http://www.eagletelephonics.com) Eagle is a telephone switch manufacturer. Eagle products are sold in more than 30 countries.

Software Developer and Publisher

Block is the Founder, Chairman, principal shareholder and chief architect of 3D Business Tools, a partner and Director of Rezn8 and the founder and first Chairman of UBmatrix.

3D Business Tools (3DBT): (www.3DBT.com) The Company developed the Enterprise Management System (EMS), a powerful patent pending customizable computer business modeling architecture.  EMS is a new generation of real-time management software that addresses the needs of corporate decision-makers, executives, managers, entrepreneurs and business owners, who seek to understand and improve their company's performance.  

Block is also the Chairman and principal shareholder of Mobley Matrix International.

Rezn8: (www.rezn8.com) Rezn8 specializes in the development of user interfaces and “packages” company images. Rezn8 clients include Microsoft, Intel, CBS, CNN, ESPN and other major corporations and media groups.

UBmatrix: (www.ubmatrix.com) UBm develops proprietary software tools and services for the financial services industry. The Company is the global leader in XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) software solutions.

Energy

Block is an investor and Board member of USCL and the Co-chair of the Technology Policy Committee of the National Energy Marketer’s Association.

USCL: (www.usclcorp.com) USCL has developed a low cost real-time energy management and utility metering system for the residential and small business marketplace. The product, EnergyCite, will facilitate conservation of electricity, gas, and water and increase utility revenues and profits through the introduction of value added products and services (VAPS) and the improvement of operating efficiency. Block is one of the inventors of the USCL technology.

National Energy Marketers Association (NEM): (www.energymarketers.com). Block Chaired the NEMA 2005 Round Table discussion on the introduction of advanced technologies into the electric power industry.

Entertainment

Block is a co-founder, Chairman and the principal shareholder of American Entertainment International, the majority shareholder and Chairman of Landmark Entertainment Group.

American Entertainment International (AEI) – Waxman/Williams & PIE: The Company was founded to provide entertainment booking and production services internationally. AEI booked the Shanghai Mariah Carey concerts and concerts featuring LeeAn Rimes, Ray Charles, The Beach Boys, America, Air Supply, the reunion of Glen Yarborough and the Limelighters, and a 60’s revival featuring Davie Jones of the Monkeys. AEI is currently working on several major concerts and sports events to tour Asia.

Block is a partner with Waxman/Williams (www.waxwill.com) in the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Bombay Dreams and the off Broadway production of We’re Still Hot.

Wax/Will and AEI are partners in Producer’s International Entertainment (PIE). PIE is bringing Shear Madness to China and several other Asian countries in the local language and is planning to bring Broadway musicals, comedies and dramas to Asia.

Landmark Entertainment Group (LEG): (www.landmarkusa.com) Block is a principal shareholder and Chairman of the board of Landmark Entertainment Group. Landmark's mission has been to create new forms of entertainment for the expanding global audience. Landmark Entertainment Group stands at the cutting edge of "experiential design" having created the most innovative and successful themed attractions. Landmark is responsible for creating such hit attractions as TERMINATOR 2/3D and JURASSIC PARK: THE RIDE and SPIDERMAN 3-D for Universal Studios, M&Ms ACADEMY for the Mars Corporation, STAR TREK: THE EXPERIENCE for Paramount Parks and The Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, ALIENS 3-D for Everland, and JAMES BOND 007: LICENSE TO THRILL for all five of the Paramount Parks. Shanghai United Asset & Equity Exchange (SUAEE) (formerly Shanghai Science & Technology Stock Exchange SSTSE): /new.suaee.com/suaee/portal/english/home.htm) Block is the first American member of the SUAEE. The SUAEE is a private placement exchange specializing in equity financing related to technology and property rights market. SUAEE has an independent legal representative status approved by Shanghai Municipal government.

Educator

Block was an early thinker regarding the worldwide distribution of data. The US Defense Department, two major Universities, and the Futurist magazine published his 1984 paper introducing the concept of a “Worldwide Information Utility”.

United States Sports Academy: /www.sportussa.edu)  Block is a Past President, and a Founding Trustee of the United States Sports Academy, an accredited University that offers Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees in Sport related subjects. The USSA operates worldwide.

L.T. Walker Human Performance Center: (www.walkercenter.com)  A Board Member of the L.T. Walker Human Performance Center at East Carolina University, a part of the North Carolina State University System.

Guest Lecturer: Block has been a presenter and guest lecturer on many occasions, including lecturing at the University of California, University of Wisconsin, U.S. Air Force Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Academy of Science, Beijing, Beijing Institute of Technology and Hunan University.

Consultant

Block has provided expert testimony and consultation to many governments and business organizations, including the United States Congress, the FCC, the Australian Broadcast Tribunal, the BBC, Singapore Broadcasting, the European Broadcasting Union, TDF and Canal Plus in France, Argentine Cable, Thomson, and many others.

Education

Block graduated from the U.S. Army Medical Corps School of Pharmacy. He received a BS in Education from the University of Wisconsin, a BS in Foreign Trade from the Latin American Institute, and an Honorary Doctorate from the United States Sports Academy.
